A new independent poll conducted by GrayHouse, the Washington, D.C.–based polling and analytics firm founded by Landon Wall, was featured on WWNY-TV Channel 7 in Watertown this week. See here.
As WWNY-TV summarized:
"A recent poll shows many New York voters are ready for a change in the governor’s office, and there’s solid support for a potential gubernatorial campaign by Congresswoman Elise Stefanik."
The GrayHouse survey, which interviewed 826 registered voters across New York, found:
• 61% of voters statewide say it’s "time for someone new" in the governor’s office, while only 27% say they would re-elect Governor Kathy Hochul.
• In a hypothetical general election matchup, Hochul leads Congresswoman Elise Stefanik 46% to 40%, with 14% undecided — an unusually close race for a Democrat in New York.
• In a potential Republican primary, Stefanik dominates with 44% support, compared to 7% for Congressman Mike Lawler and 5% for Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman. 44% of GOP voters remain undecided.
• WWNY-TV also reported Democratic primary results, showing Hochul with only 24% support among Democrats — with 55% undecided.
The poll, conducted by GrayHouse, carries a ±4% margin of error for general election questions and a ±5% margin of error for primary questions.
