Punchbowl News featured GrayHouse polling highlighting our national survey findings on immigration enforcement and deportations. Jake Sherman reported that the polling was discussed by Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) with Senate Republicans at their Thursday lunch. The story highlighted that voters expressed overwhelming support for deporting immigrants in the country illegally who have criminal records (78% support, 16% oppose), majority support for deporting those who arrived in the last four years (56%-33%), and majority support for deporting all immigrants in the country illegally (52%-39%).

The survey of 1,502 registered voters also found that a clear majority want deportations to continue — 65% say enforcement should keep going, with 41% saying ICE's tactics need to be adjusted but deportations need to continue and 24% saying the current approach is necessary. Just 26% said ICE should be abolished and deportations should stop completely. Voters also rejected organized efforts to interfere with ICE operations — 51% said groups that track federal agents, maintain license plate databases, and use encrypted apps to prevent arrests do more harm than good, including 52% of independents.
