The Coalition Against Socialized Medicine released new national polling conducted by GrayHouse, a “leading GOP pollster,” highlighting strong voter support for solutions to reduce healthcare costs while protecting access and innovation.

The GrayHouse national survey of 1,000 registered voters, conducted May 6–7, 2025, found:

  • 60% of voters support eliminating fraud and improper payments in Medicaid through better audits and eligibility verification

  • 57% support adding work requirements to Medicaid for able-bodied adults

  • 79% prefer reforming Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) to pass drug discounts directly to patients and government programs, rather than other pricing proposals

  • 64% strongly support requiring PBMs to pass negotiated savings on to patients

  • 78% strongly support requiring transparency into how large hospitals mark up drug prices

When asked which approach would be most effective in achieving $880 billion in healthcare savings while maintaining patient access, voters overwhelmingly chose:

  • Eliminating Medicaid fraud and improper payments (31%)

  • Reforming Pharmacy Benefit Managers (25%)

The survey also showed deep concern about maintaining America's leadership in pharmaceutical innovation:

  • 71% view U.S. leadership in drug innovation as "extremely" or "very" important

  • 63% are "extremely" or "very" concerned about pharmaceutical research shifting to China

Andrew Langer, Executive Director of the Coalition Against Socialized Medicine, said:

"This polling is evidence that voters overwhelmingly support solutions that protect access to care and encourage competition to lower healthcare costs, while preserving America's leadership in pharmaceutical innovation."
