Banjo-Kazooie 3, the latest title for the franchise will be hitting the Xbox 360 sometime this Christmas according to Rare.

George Kelion, posting on the NeoGaf forums, “The game is scheduled for a holiday 2008 release - barring the coming of the four horsemen of the apocalypse, you should be playing Banjo 3 before the end of the year (providing you buy the game, that is).”

Gregg Mayles has been confirmed by Kelion as lead designer for the game and hushed fears of the game being geared only toward a younger crowd.

“I can assure you that we haven’t been focused on four year-olds when creating the new Banjo game,” he wrote. “We hope that you’ll be pleasantly suprised with what we’ve cooked up.”

The game already has a teaser site set up for all those anxious fans. Kelion continued, “I really wouldn’t base your ultimate judgements of the final Banjo model from what you’ve glimpsed on the teaser site if I were you, all shall be revealed in due course, not that long to wait now.”
