Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles Ships 1 Million Copies Globally

Today, creator of the survivor-horror video game Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, Capcom announced that they have shipped 1,000,000 copies of the title. It was first available Nov. 2007 exclusively for the Wii and is the second from the company to do so along with Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition.

As of late February, the franchise has sold nearly 35 million units worldwide starting from the first Resident Evil game released in 1996 to the latest installment, Umbrella Chronicles. Even though no huge titles have been released in the past couple years, the series has stayed as strong as ever by innovating on the Wii.

The most recent title to ship a million copies, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles features classic characters and locations which are home to Resident Evil 0, 1, 2, and 3. The story focuses on the fall of the Umbrella Corporation and reveals a new location to explore: the Umbrella Stronghold.

The game mixes the two genres of action and shooter and presents a first person perspective for a light gun shooter. With multiple paths, new monsters and zombies and also being Wii Zapper accessible, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles is truly an interesting experience. Check out our full review here.
