European Wii owners look out, Wii Fit might be releasing earlier than expected in Europe. With the launch some time in April 2008, gamers in Europe will get the game around the same time as the American audience. The North American release is Q2 2008 and Europe had a Spring 2008 date, but this has seemed to be upgraded to April. However no word yet if the NA release date as also been revealed.

The news came during the Micromania Games Awards. In France, it is the biggest event for video games and is held by Nintendo of France who is the country leading video game retailer.

For those who are still unsure about what the Wii Fit is then look no further. Packaging with a Balance Board, Wii Fit includes over 40 minigames which inspire the gamer to become active, all the while enjoying themselves. Games like ski jumping, slalom and tight-rope walking are just a few examples that use the weight shitfting technology.

For North American Wii owners, don’t get down on yourselves just yet. GDC is almost in full flight and who knows… an announcement might be made concerning the fitness title.
