Rumor: Microsoft Purchasing Epic Games

GamePro assistant editor Travis Moses, has supposedly let slip a Microsoft financial plan. The company is to buy Epic Games for a sum of one billion dollars.(See Dr.Evil)

One of the more notable games that Epic has developed is Gears of War for the Xbox 360. Since the news, many fans have been wondering just how good the next Gears of War might be now with this new partnership. Another advantage might come via online. The partnership will allow both companies to fully utilize the Xbox Live to it’s full potential. Hopefully, the online play for Gears of War 2 will be optimized for use with Xbox Live.
