New Franchises Coming and Innovation To Previous Ones says EA
EA Sports, a well-known publisher, has planned to launch five new sport franchises in the span of three years. Peter Moore, the president of EA, says that one of the new franchises coming during the fiscal year of 2009 (Apr. 1, 08 – Mar. 31, 09) will be geared towards the more casual gamer. Also in this category is the boxing title FaceBreaker and the previously released EA Playground.
EA also plans to target the hardcore crowd as well. The other four titles will be similar to the NFL,NHL and NBA games were all used to. They plan to arrive near the end of the fiscal year of 2011 (after Mar. 31)
Moore also commented that would like to stretch outside of North America and keep in mind the “fast fail, fail cheap” policy they have.
Moore also stated that more innovation will be added in the current franchises. Successful franchises such as FIFA and NBA Live were two examples of series needing and receiving innovations.
