Guitar Hero Get’s Slighty Edged Out By Rock Band

In recent sales figures, Rock Band has surpassed Guitar Hero on the Xbox 360 by the slightest of numbers. This news is good for MTV, because their game had been under Guitar Hero for a long time, but with good reason. The game prices for $80 more than Guitar Hero.

The bundle includes the game, guitar, drum set and microphone

Weekly Xbox Live downloadable content has also played a factor in Rock Band’s climb in sales numbers. In the long term, Guitar Hero has certainly sold more units, 14 million to be exact since its first release in 2005, but who knows what the future holds for both series. Will Guitar Hero continue to stay on top? Or will Rock Band continue to dethrone the king of rhythm games? Only time will tell.
